‘The Scale is More Human in the Countryside, and This Is Also Good For Photography’
This year, Zsófia Sivák won the Hungarian Press Photo Competition Award with her series titled Áraink forintban értendők (Our Prices Are in Forint), which is not without precedents from many aspects. Her thesis four years ago also reached first place in the category Social Representation, but more importantly, it also explored the life in the countryside. These dry facts seem to outline a picture of a conscious, forward-looking, creator who plans everything, although - as it usually happens - reality is not so simple... Applications submitted in the last minutes, headlong rush in Budapest, meditative presence in the village, imaginary debates about the photographer’s responsibility, life in capital letters and orders in small letters. designisso talked to Zsófi about all of these.
