MOME Media presents: Contemporary Lebanese Film Master Class with Ghassan Koteit, Head of the Film Department at ALBA in Beirut
The online lecture will give an introduction to contemporary Lebanese cinema, showing its diversity and different trends. The challenges facing Lebanese cinema are as complex as the themes addressed in the works. At the same time, the films often draw on a single common source: troubled collective memory and the constant search for identity.
Speaker: Ghassan Koteit, Deputy Director of the Académie Libanaise des Beaux-Arts (ALBA, Balamand) Cinema School and Head of the Film Department.
Moderator: Natália Fábics, film historian, lecturer at the MOME Media Institute
During the lecture, film clips will be screened, and Lebanese filmmakers Ghassan Salhab and Myriam El Hajj will join the closing discussion.
