What is SHack Budapest?
SHack Budapest is a social hackathon that aims to imagine, design and create prototypes of smart digital solutions that address societal challenges - in just 48 hours! The hackathon brings together participants from different backgrounds in coding, technology, medicine, social innovation or other areas of the economy. SHack Budapest will take place on 22 February 2020 as part of the EYA (European Youth Award), in cooperation with partner universities and international organisations.
Why should you participate?
- Over a weekend, you will have the opportunity to innovate, deepen your knowledge and meet face-to-face with industry representatives and experts.
- During the event, you can learn about topics such as UI, business plan development or pitching effectively in interactive workshops
- Apply your knowledge and expertise in real-life situations. Be part of the international startup world and start-up projects!
- Most importantly, we will devise solutions that can make a real impact on the challenges facing society.
- Practise your English language and presentation skills in real-life situations.
- Great prizes: including participation in German and Austrian international competitions with full board as well as designer products.

Who can participate?
18-30 year old designers, UX designers, coders, doctors, programmers, designers, innovators, social thinkers, economists - students from MOME, ELTE TáTK, BME, Corvinus University of Budapest and Semmelweis University
Places available:
50 participants |15 expert coaches | 7 judges
English language proficiency is required for participation.
Participation in the competition also counts as completion of a MOME course week.
