Description
The difficulties of students in finding housing represents a serious problem in Budapest’s higher education. Dormitories at full capacity, high rent and a periodically inactive housing market make it difficult for students to successfully take on the challenges of university and college. As my diploma thesis, I designed a possible alternative for the dormitory of the future, embedded in the concept of the Budapest South City Gate Development. The plan envisages new and hybrid forms of housing, moving away from the traditional dormitory system, integrating these in modular fashion to create an economically sustainable, well-functioning district in the urban fabric of Budapest.
