Description
Can you make jewellery from a pen cartridge, a nylon bag or even a zip tie? Can a constellation of such objects even be called wearable jewellery?
Patrícia Harsány, a metalworking (MA) student at Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design, launched her Quarantine Jewellery project during the involuntary, forced quarantine that hit us in the spring, sharing her unique jewellery designs with her Instagram audience on a daily basis.
She returned to her childhood home to a small village in Zala, where she created unusual jewellery from everyday parts and often ‘useless’ accessories found in and around the family home. During the challenge, which was planned for a hundred days, the designer came across a wide variety of objects and natural formations (plants, flowers, fruits, bark), and through her unique vision gave new meaning to the objects found.
The public was already introduced to part of the collection during the Night of Jewellery Budapest event in September, but this time we are shown an extended collection at the exhibition in the MOME Gallery.
