GOLF

One year ago, on 22 September 2019, the public looking to play some golf saw something different. They saw a mess, they saw disorder. For one day, models and dancers wrapped in attires rich in colour and shape brought variety to the geometric, rule-abiding world of the golf course. Then order returned.

The motivation behind the creation of the GOLF multidisciplinary workshop was the representation of the works of the fashion and textile design students of Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design created over the past three years. The happening to be documented was an improvisational performance inspired by a fashion show with a specific pre-determined setting and visual appearance. The theme envisaged within, however, allowed for individual association. The artists invited were given complete freedom to formulate their own concept and to choose their own language of form.

But the unstated purpose of the project was to answer the following question: If you create a mixture of colours, shapes, movements, with sixty-five percent thought and thirty-five percent chaos, what do you get? The objective of the exhibition is not just to answer this question for yourselves, but also to show, through the filter of the participating artists, the unprecedented and somewhat surreal world of the golf course.
